The First Blanket Donation
October 31, 2016Short and Thankful
November 17, 2016Today, November 10th, was a really great day. Blankets of Love South Bay had both a ‘give’ and a ‘take’. First of all, I drove down to the mid-Wilshire area early in the morning to get a tour of Baby2Baby and donate 15 amazing blankets to them as well as Fritizi Jackson’s really cute handmade animals. Baby2Baby can be looked up on line but just being there I could feel the vibe of people who care and an urgency to get things done. The ‘store front’ is located on Wilshire Blvd. just east of Beverly Hills. They are supportive of children from age 0-12 and many of their donations are from large corporations. At first I felt that maybe our small, handmade donations would not be sufficient but when they saw the blankets all rolled, bowed and tagged, plus the stuffed animals from Fritizi, they were so appreciative. Suffice to say that what Blankets of Love South Bay gave to them, was unique and adored. I think that this organization will be a longtime recipient of our blanket donations and so I hope that all of you will keep knitting and crocheting to help supply this worthy cause.
Later in the day, I went to receive 30 beautiful blankets from the MB Neptunian Women’s Club. They took on Blankets of Love South Bay as their October project and they were able to knit/crochet 30 blankets. They are stunning! I hardly know what to say – it is an amazing and blessed donation. The names of all those who participated will be posted on my website.
Then today I also got a bag of four beautiful blankets on my front porch. There was no note or tag on them. I do not know who gave them to me, but they are so very appreciated and adored. They are exquisite.
What can I say? I am blown away by the love, dedication, help, support, interest, and desire to help by so many people. I am humbled and grateful. Thank you so much to all who have been a part of Blankets of Love South Bay…… it’s a busy time of the year but I need you to continue your hard work as we move into the new year….. So many babies need so much love!
